TOUR DE FRANCE WEEK.
DATE - SATURDAY 17-24 JULY

BRIEF ITINERARY (all AQR itineries remain flexible) -
Saturday 17 July : AQR TRANSFER DAY
AQR offer all guests the choice of two free airport transfers up until 6:30pm from Toulouse Airport. Arrive in Luchon and spend your afternoon settling into the hotel or taking a stroll down the tree lined boulevard.
SUNDAY 18 JULY : AQR’s ’little’ TOUR DE LUCHON
10am to 3pm-ish : The first ride of the week will be a little AQR tour around the local Luchon trails. This ride is a warm up for the week ahead and for AQR guides to see you ride for the first time. There will be some little challenges on offer for those of you who like testing yourself on more technical terrain as well as the opportunity to learn some mountain biking skills and technique along the way from AQR instructors.
MONDAY 19 JULY : TOUR DE FRANCE
STAGE 15 PAMIERS – BAGNERES DE LUCHON 187KM
9am to 5pm-ish : AQR will be offering two guided rides to the top of the Port de Bales, the final col of stage 15. This climb is a tough one, both on road and off road options are available. This is only the second time the col has been used in the Tour de France. On this ride you can immerse yourself in the festival atmosphere and enjoy the cheers from the village locals who will be cheering you on all the way to the top. The rest of the day will be spent watching the caravan parade pass by and then seeing the riders make their way to the top of the col.
TUESDAY 20 July : TOUR DE FRANCE
STAGE 16 BAGNERES DE LUCHON - PAU 196KM
AQR REST DAY : We have chosen today to be your rest day because you can spend the morning at your leisure walking around the TDF start area in Luchon and seeing the Tour de France riders preparing for stage 16. In the afternoon you may fancy taking part in an extra activity that AQR can help arrange such as rafting or parapente, or simply save those legs for the next three days of AQR mountain biking.
