AQR can arrange mountain bike skills coaching weeks in Luchon or include coaching sessions as part of any holiday package. If you would like further information on specific AQR coaching weeks then please contact AQR as courses are flexible and can be run any time so long as there are a minimum of 6 riders on the course.
AQR SKILLS COACHING INSTRUCTORS
Between Ian & Kate Potter they have been around the mountain bike racing and training scene in the UK and the rest of the world for over 20 years.
Ian Potter specialises in mountain bike skills coaching and has been coaching athletes and recreational riders for over 10 years, including Cotic Bontrager elite racer Kate Potter.
Ian is also a test rider for Cotic bikes and offers a bike set up service to people wanting advice on the best and most affordable components for their budget.
Ian is no slouch on the race circuit and was a semi professional racer when the sport first hit British shores before his love for guiding took precedent. Ian won the 2008 Transpyrenees and has been a professional mountain bike guide for over 10 years. Ian has spent time working as a soigneur for Cycling Australia mountain bike teams and learning from world class coach Neil Ross and Mountain Bike Australia down hill coach Chris Clarke.
Kate Potter has represented Australia at the Mountain Bike World Championships and was the 2009 British Cross Country Mountain Biking Series Champion and 2007 British Marathon Series Champion. Kate has also specialised in ultra endurance events and has won 24hr solo events and finished second in the 2006 international Transalp stage race. Kate has over ten years teaching experience, and has qualifications as a personal trainer and gym instructor. Kate also runs annual skills coaching days for women.
Together Ian and Kate have a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of mountain biking that could help you work towards your biking goals and adventures.
AQR SKILLS COACHING WEEKS, what will be addressed...
Bike set up for racing, training and trail riding including best component choices for your money.
If you are a competitive cyclist race tactics and race prep, including: choosing race lines, warming up, cooling down, bike prep, nutritional advice for getting the most out of your training and racing, plus skills coaching with a specific look at racing skills for those riders focused on their racing.
If you are a trail rider of any ability then more emphasis will be placed on focusing on specific skills to enhance your riding....areas that will be addressed are - balance, climbing, descending, cornering, riding obstacles and single track as well as more advanced skills such as manuals, drops offs, bunny hops and jumps based on your current skill level. Time will also be spent on trail craft and trail analysis.
Video analysis and discussion will be used each day, and a copy for each rider will be availble at the end of the week for future reference.
